Power of Attorney

Recently, I've had the pleasure to work with a client who is the Power of Attorney for her 90+ year old mother. This is a reminder to everyone that we need to plan for the future. My client had foresight to get a power of attorney more than 10 years ago.
One needs to make sure the power of attorney is valid and usable. Besides getting a power of attorney set up, everyone should consider putting the property into a trust identifying who has the authority to handle the affairs of the property, assets and affairs. Having a property held in a trust is less expensive than going through probate when a loved one only has a will. Be prepared and make life easier for future generations.
